The entire apartment is now primed with oil base, backsplash is up, all that's left is patching/finish paint, and installing all new fixtures throughout (lights, fans, toilet, switch plates, cabinet pulls, etc)Total renovation cost up to this point: $3800

I saved thousands by doing a lot of cosmetic work, which includes: installing my kitchen cabinets, countertops, tile, backsplash, installing tile in the bathroom, the toilet, and a lot of other cosmetic stuff, especially the floorboards, crown, and casing. 

Throw on a cheap 4x6 subway tile back splash and you'd be in it for *maybe* $300 in materials.

Here is what we have already decided:Keeping the range, as it is in good condition, but the range hood and dishwasher are being replaced.Wallpaper is going far, far away, replaced with a tile backsplash.

Install new tile and decorative backsplash in both bathrooms (2ndfloor and basement) install new toilets (2) and two new 24-inch vanities with faucets.

I did pay commissioning to my awesome agent who sold it at full ask while we were still hanging backsplash tile.

Skip the back splashed and add new faucet.
