Obviously this is not a science and won't answer all questions, but personally I think consumer confidence and habits can give a lot of insight into the mid-term economic outlook of a given area.

If an insurance company decides they do not want to be in a particular industry or on a particular property, such as commercial habitation or the 5 unit in Chicago, they price themselves out of the market. 

I agree with your number one and I am taking responsibility by having a coach and mentor to help me understand the mindsets and be beliefs that led to my spending habits.

As far as I can tell, there is no harm to accepting a colleague request because it just means (I think) that they can message you in the future.
