The property was in good shape when I purchased, but I've put in new furnaces, new hot water heaters, new roof, repaired dry rot on exterior side stairs, and some updates in the top unit (new windows, new counters and backsplash, new appliances, new tile in shower and bathroom floor). 

Let me explain with more details, lets say you just bought 8 door multi-family in a bit rough condition and along with other stuff you plan to update all kitchens, how about if someone sends you the whole kitchen in boxes along with backsplash tiles already installed on large frames and even if you are not very skilled with tools it would take only 45 mins to install this kitchen..

The scope consisted primarily of the basics; flooring, new bathrooms, appliances, backsplash, landscaping, and some framing and drywall to open up the kitchen.

We painted the interior, which was necessary and installed a beautiful backsplash in the kitchen.

For our renovations, I select and collect all the supplies we'll need for a given job and  I usually do our back splash tile and construction clean.

We have installed floating shelfs and custom tile backsplashes in the kitchen for more pop.

I guess it depends on the other features like backsplash.

I got a detailed estimate from the store and I know the material cost would be $7,500 for new all plywood, soft close-white shaker cabinets, granite, stainless steel appliances, farm house stainless steel sink with back splash.

Countertops: Clean all countertops and backsplash, including edges and corners.Bathroom Cabinets: Empty all cabinets and drawers, vacuum if needed, and thoroughly wash inside and out.

(they would have to cut through tile backsplashes)2) Any suggestions on areas I can do while I wait for the electrician?
