A good buy for you may be a bad deal for someone else.If you're looking at income properties, the property analysis tool here at BiggerPockets.com is a great free tool for conducting analysis on houses, apts., etc.Otherwise, you just have to do a traditional CMA - Comparitive Market Analysis in determining property "value".

If they don't know ask them who will conduct the auction and contact the auction house and ask them.As a general rule you are required to have funding to even take part in the auction.
