I could understand maybe 3 people if it was 2 people and a child but any more than 3 people does not make any sense.

I know many parents believe it to be socially/morally acceptable/responsible to pay for a child's college.

You can speak to your lender about a 'change in circumstance' letter and see if underwriter will take it for the new loan considering you have a new child and cannot live in the space no longer.
