Hello all, I'm new to real estate investing and about to graduate college.

@Benjamin Centeio @Justin SheleyI’ve been thinking about this strategy.Is the analogy like borrowing to finance college? 

@Erik R Aho as several have already mentioned, buy a 2-4 unit and live in one unit while renting the rest.The experience from this will be more valuable than just about any college education!

Then when everything with my health was finally normal, my daughter graduated high school and went on to graduate college with top honors. 

The colleges in NEPA are: Stroudsburg U, Kings Coll and Wilkes in Wilkes Barre, Keystone in Dalton (near Clarks Summit) and in Scranton there is Univ of Scranton, Marywood and a branch of Penn State.In regard to the Poconos there is an abundance of single family opportunities in the private communities but also HOA dues and extra due dilligence to understand each community.That is a tour of a small piece of PA.

While it does have a university and college present, has anyone had any experience investing in this area?

Had a succesful investment with College friend 10 years ago and now we are cashing out and going our separate ways. 

I know the general basics of the market, the business model, etc, but I was hoping to take my knowledge to the next level.My biggest goal right now is to own a rental property before I graduate college (currently a junior in high school).For context, I love reading books about investing and personal finance (I have a very solid foundation of knowledge built up) and I currently have a portfolio of about 11k between stocks and crypto. 

And by connection, I mean a place where friends and family live, where you went to college, somewhere that you have spent time.

First, pick an area close to colleges, corporate headquarters, or other well-known landmarks that offers superior facilities, education, and overall quality of life.
