I would definitely find a realtor to help you with the search as well as negotiating and the paperwork.You can also drive your neighborhood or the area where you want to live and look for multi-family properties and then find the owner's address or telephone number and contact them to see if they're interested in selling.

I would start by setting up an office with multiple telephone lines and 1 or 2 assistants; Then I would set up 2 decent inexpensive webpages-one for sellers and one for buyers.

I just thought it was so silly to wake up at a very late hour(I recommend 3-5am),drive around and find a good telephone pole, and run out staple the sign to the pole and run back into my car and drive off.
