Swap that range hood out to a microwave style that matches the appliances, grey ish wall color, dull off white ish cabinetry, darker countertop.

A $2k rental will have a nicer fridge than a $1200 rental, which will be nicer than an $850 rental.My rentals include fridge, mounted microwave, and dishwasher. 

I'd consider things like "tupperware containers set (microwaveable/dish wash safe/etc) to help with folks who meal prep and bring food to their long shifts.
