Could be cheaper to use local carpenters electricians etc than GCs that are required for rehab with HML.

As an example, here in Los Angeles, a homeowner needs to hire a licensed electrician to do a new electrical panel.Your lender should have no say so in who you hire, but they may require to see licenses and lien releases which you should get anyways.
