From what I read in The Economist, listings with updated, compelling photos tend to outperform others significantly.

I updated the kitchen with high-end appliances, installed custom cabinetry, and added modern finishes throughout.

If you are going to have this asset for a long time it'll be worth the peace of mind knowing its updated.
