Yes, this creates problems for title companies and title insurers to resolve. 

You will generally want to make sure you are compatible and have similar visions, clear responsibilities of what each partner will be doing, and can openly communicate with this person.At a high level, though, what does "finding a partner" mean to you?  

I doubt this is going to be resolved this year alone.

I was told it's more difficult to find tenants for smaller multi-units(duplex, triplex, etc.) due to compatibility, but I'm not sure how accurate that is.

We both also have finance degrees and are savvy with finances and from an income perspective we are inline with each otherSimilar to what JD stated - We have a living trust where everything eventually goes to the kids and if something were to ever happen we would sit down like adults and resolve it without being vindictive. 

They spent 1K on them from upwork and it helped resolve concerns in the meeting real time with some neighbors had who were just picturing the project their own way which was completely different than what the emerging developer was proposing. 

There were two maintenance issues which I got it resolved the same exact day.

No one (besides you) should have to pay for that as it's your fault for there being an unlabeled switch to the boiler in a common area that you also didn't know could be the issue to get it resolved over the phone.
