The finishes were simple, and the owners took many steps to keep the costs as low as possible: the owners found bath cabinets, doors, and sinks from Habitat for Humanity, bathroom floor tile in Mexico, kitchen cabinets  from IKEA, wood kitchen counter tops from Floor and Decor, and the wood floors were made of A-C Plywood sheets.

My go-to spots have been Home Depot and Lowes, Oakland's Habitat for Humanity, Sincere Hardware and San Leandro Granite for granite for kitchen countertops. 

If you don't, it's possible to get one with a brace and install it through the existing hole in the drywall; you don't *have* to go into the attic or tear up the ceiling.Whenever I am in the local Habitat ReStore, I notice that they have a few fans, but they always have several sets of glass shades for the lights. 

I could just give it to Habitat but I want to give back to BP if I can.

I would normally want to put in all new appliances, just to cut out maintenance headaches, but hopefully the initial cost savings will make it worth it.I've also found good deals on used cabinetry at our local Habitat ReStore, both kitchens and bath vanities. 

I do enjoy working with my hands and using tools (I guess this just makes me man *thumps on chest*), I have volunteered at Habitat for Humanity and 8 hours always seems like 1 hour.GoalsI want to reach a point where I can have positive cash flow and leave the chain that is currently attaches my ankle to my cubicle.  

I do not have any contacts I can recommend personally but off the top of my head you may want to give a buzz to Habitat for Humanity. 

Later i found out why the cats were there...the local feral cat society set up shop behind the shopping center creating a make shift habitat for these feral cats, and would even come by and feed them on a very regular basis. 

Now I had no debt on most of mine so I could do that I don't know if you have a double whammy here and have debt that could back to bite you as well.I also donated my fair share of these to Habitat for Humans.. but they don't just take anything .. they don't want stuff they can't turn aroundBest of luck
