My best diagnostic that has worked for some other landlords I know goes something like this: 1) Have you done your own taxes before (1040 itemized) with some more complicated calculations (like capital gains or tax credits).....

They will do the whole house diagnostic and seal ducts and insulate.

Plus I had to pay not only the service fee but a diagnostic fee as well.

They do good work, but they charge a fixed $75 or $95 dollar diagnostic fee that is rolled into the repair if you do it, but you pay if you opt to not do the repair.This approach has been a thorn in my side forever.

The charge for the diagnostic is $125.00.They found that the return plenum is not properly attached therefore pulling dust and dirt in from the attic.

I have been thinking of purchasing the Flir One that attaches to a smart phone for quick diagnostics/inspections.  

your question is like this : if you car is broken do you do diagnostic and how do you determine the quote from the result of diagnostic ?

life picked up shortly thereafter which pulled me away.Since then I’ve been working in tech in NYC (IIoT / predictive mechanical diagnostics), and have recently decided to step back up to this challenge.I love NY, but don’t see it as a realistic jump off point for my REI ventures.
