The easiest way to rent out the big houses to big groups is when the group is an extended family that works together. 

Agh - I think my post may have come off as a little insensitive; I'm more concerned about finding additional information on the delays/re-inspections/costs associated with extended contract periods rather than making a buck at someone expense.Given that we may have to delay our closing, I'm curious if anyone has experienced similar scenarios where they were required to re-inspect, re-appraise, etc. following a hurricane strike.

I cant count how many things I have to do, nor problems arising daily at the moment, and I over extended myself financially.

I have insured those in our state and found that it often the company will write the owner occ bldg. under a homeowners and extend that liability to the the 2nd building. 

A 1031 will start with the sale of that property so first you need to get with the commercial agent and set a game plan of either sell or lease extend, new lease and tenant or whatever.

I was able to get my due diligence deadline extended to the 22nd, but my concern is about the availability of contractors and supplies. 

The house is in pre foreclosure and we got the sale date extended for him in order to make it happen.

If not, I extend the lease and keep cash flowing.  

Whereas each apartment would need its own kitchen, living room, etc, hotels typically don't build out a living room or kitchen for each room (with the exception of some extended stay hotels). 

Was going to do it myself but I am over extended time wise on other projects.
