And now that beards are trendy, they're even more acceptable than they were three decades ago.But like I said, if you're trying to pull off a handlebar mustache or look like you're a mountain man from the 1800's, it's far too distracting and potentially off-putting to some clients.Beards are actually much more important in politics.

You might ought to get advice from an attorney and/or a CPA ( or a tax accountant) after you select whart you want to do.You can start your new career looking for a new office location that has few distractions.  

Bottom-line yes you should have a biz card but don't let it be a distraction or dependency to the bigger goals you have.    

I do have shiny object syndrome at times and always need to remind myself to focus on my One Thing at any given moment and not let the peripherals or future stuff distract me from whats important now.

Doubt and eliminate as many distractions as possible when getting started.
