Not only is it an eye sore, it is an inefficient use of good land that I envision as a granny flats or multiunit (don't know the zoning)Does anyone have any insight on how this is done? 

Now, today, due to our building being sorely neglected during covid (poor landlord, as crappy as he was, I felt badly knowing a lot of tenants just stopped paying rent at all and he suffered greatly) but our building slowly turned into just a step above .. well .. crusty water, slippery stairs, no maintenance avail, self plumbing fix when issues arose, etc etc. we found mold in a closet so we gave 30 days. 

The best part is that it’s located in an A- area and is an eye sore right now.

Cons they can be eye sores if not well maintained municipalities don't like them.

I know evictions in NY are not happening right now but if considered squatters I wonder if we can proceed with some sore of legal action. 

I am out of town so relying on a realtor to send me deals.

My neighbors next door don't take care of their home at all and it's an eye sore - that could affect me too when selling my home.

Otherwise you risk ending up with sticky drawers, uneven face-frame joints, misaligned door, unlevel countertops, and all of the other little nit-picky things that stick out like a sore thumb once the job is finished.I apprenticed for a custom cabinet maker for about a year.
