We took out wood paneling on the walls that had 3 layers of smoke infused wall paper beneath it (really should have just ripped out the drywall...).  

If you don't understand the circuitry and you attempt to take a different path, you can smoke yourself, you'll short out and fail.

I have security monitoring through a company  that uses the Qolsys IQ Panel in conjunction with Alarm.com, and this works as a Z-wave hub for multiple products including security, wifi thermostats, electronic locks, lights, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide, freeze detectors, and more in the future I'm sure.

Also lived in the West Loop near the now smoking hot Ukranian Village.

My parents, who found it, say it could use another coat of paint on the walls to mask the old colors and hopefully the mild smoke.

Oh and for what it's worth unless it is just a smoking hot deal please don't find a house on the MLS, negotiate it down a few thousand, get it under contract, then try to flip it to an investor. 

(ie.. the doors open, the windows work, the furnace works, and smoke alarms are functional with 10yr batteries).  

Envision little faces pressed against the bars through the smoke...

With that be said I can image it has no CO2 alarms, smokes or exhaust fan for bathroom.

When I charge $5 for a bulb or battery for a smoke detector don't complain.
