Section 8 in Baltimore City

Hello everybody,

Has anyone bought, rehabbed, and Section 8'd a property in Baltimore City, MD. Similar to the BRRRR strategy, this strategy will be focusing on subsidized housing [Section 8], specifically in the 21229 zip code area.

I did some research and found that the landlord registration form for HABC is just a page, so it appears that the process if relatively straightforward. But, are the Housing Authority of Baltimore City (HABC) and Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) easy to deal with?

Do the tenants pay on time? Please any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!

Screen as you would any tenant applicant and you will get the quality of tenant base on your screening criteria. Just because a person is on section 8 does not mean they automatically have bad credit and a criminal record, although they usually do. Find the tenants that do not.
