Typically, when I buy a property, there is a meter and meter can leading to an electrical/breaker box.  99% of the time, the when the city turns on power, they will just come out and take a plastic plug off the meter socket and stick it back in the meter can.

But the rehab on our current residence went wildly over budget (1840s house coupled with insane Boston-specific issues getting contractors) and then we had a little accident (my beautiful 1-year-old son) and between the HELOC payment to cover the overage on the rehab and the extra $1500+ we're spending on the kid's childcare, college savings, and plastic kid crap I am now much farther away.And no, we're not moving.

I am going painted gray but the gray brown wood is proabably a better choice, very pretty and wood seems more upscale than paint, especially over thermofoil which looks plastic.

I have seen that LVP (LVT) is popular online, but I am not so sure it is the best choice if you consider that it may have a stigma for being just plastic flooring after all.

So my 2-car garage has a plumbing toolbox, an electrical toolbox, a toolbox with new receptacle covers both white and cream and the foam inserts, I've got the contractor boxes of receptacles, spare garage door rollers, copper plumbing parts, PVC and plastic plumbing parts, 3 boxes of painting supplies, clamps, drills, saws of all kinds, and on and on.

If your city only does the one water bill deal, water meters are cheap like $110 a piece (buy the metal ones, don’t buy the plastic ones) if one plastic meter cracks or dies you’ll be wishing you sprung for the metal ones.
