I would like any recommendations for resources that may go into more detail about the benefits and pitfalls of this type of transaction and how I should go about starting this potential negotiation.  

The coursework and cost and time to maintain the license are the main pitfalls. 

I've read through the forums and I am inspired by many of the success stories found on these forums.Currently, I've read through J Scott and Brandon Turner's books; Good resources and lays the foundation quite well.I'm aware of the pitfalls many newcomers fall into, and with the tight market I'm sure it's not the easiest of paths.Doesn't matter.

I saw a new one out there called SoFi that has a bunch of flexibility on the normal traditional pitfalls maybe look into them?
