Most fun I had was volunteering at Habitat for Humanity.   

If you’re in the south end I’m sure there are plenty of volunteers down there as well. 

If I were just starting out I'd find a landlord with a few rentals in my college town and volunteer to mow his lawns or do general maintenance for him.

These groups are desperate for volunteers, committee chairs and board members.

As odd as it may sound, we're looking to volunteer our time to help local rehab investors perform their renovations.

In the meantime while I am in college I will focus my free time on engaging with the REI community through meetups, the forums and volunteering my time to learn.
