But I actually recently read this book and purchased the ONE THING planner to keep me focused. 

Are they poor planners, consultants who are called in quickly on projects gone bad, building a house, or divorcing?

If that's your thing, become an interior decorator or space planner.

I'm considering bringing in a land planner to assist with the zoning for a 20 acre SFR development.

Call the city or county zoning / planner and have a conversation about what is involved.

In order to do this, I need the city to officially consider the second unit as a second house / duplex.I am working with the city planner to try and find the permit..but I was hoping for any thoughts or ideas from the BP community on how to attack this issue.Can you get an address and meters for an illegal property?  

You can call the planning department to speak wit the planners and zoning officers to find out what you can do.
