I struggle with this because my husband is always looking at my outfit like "are you going out in public like that," and I'm like "I HATE being uncomfortable", and it's to the point I think I have a sensory disorder when it come to tightness, itchiness, being hot or cold, etc.

That's my two cents. if you plan to own it forever and only value cashfow or plan to sell it to investors later on than I would say you should do it (unless you'd stick out like a sore thumb or get in trouble with zoning/hoa/etc.)

The main reason is that more and more people (not just in my family but generally in US) suffer from insomnia or apnea or other sleep disorders, so that a married couple may actually prefer to sleep in 2 separate beds.
