It will make those properties harder to sell and will depress the selling prices.If all you own are SFH that you plan on selling to owner occupants, you may see little or no effect.

@Russell NaylorYou'll want to look into a couple of things...The Veterans Administration has a supportive housing initiative to promote housing veterans near where they get treatment for injuries and psychological disorders as a result of their service, or near public transit which can help them get to their sources of treatment.
