Oregon Business Climate

Hi All,
I'm looking for some general information about investing in RE while residing in Oregon. I've got family in Oregon and have been entertaining the idea of moving somewhere between Roseburg and Salem.

Here are a few questions I've got floating around in my head:
1) How does Oregon treat out of state income since they do not have an income tax?
2) What is your experience with setting up a business inside Oregon? Specifically LLC &/or S-Corp.
3) Is Oregon landlord friendly?
4) Can you provide some general information and "feelings" about operating your business in Oregon and investing in Oregon.

I'm trying to paint with a broad brush because I've just started thinking about this move more seriously this year.

Thanks all and look forward to connecting with everyone.
-Sean

Appreciate the info Jeff S. - I've got some follow-ups if you don't mind.

1) What if my rentals were not in Oregon, do they count? In California, I would have to pay tax on the income earned out of state, but brought back into California (even though the business was conducted outside of CA borders)

2) My eyes really have been around the Eugene and Corvallis areas; with Bend and Beaverton/Hillsboro in the peripheral. I've been reading news about these areas and seem to be in an upward swing. I know that Beaverton/Hillsboro are the suburbs of Portland and Portland's "goodwill" rubs off on them..

In Portland, are you having success within the inner city? Out-skirts? Suburbs? Buy & Holds or Flips?

I've seen a lot of Marco Santarelli's posts lately and his saying is rubbing off on me - "Live where you want. Invest where it makes sense."

While I'd be moving to Oregon because I want to, I still like the idea of getting a feel for the investment climate.
