I used to just use 1 color for every property but as I started to renovate some of the properties we have expanded on our color palette to help with the decor.May I add that Sherwin Williams does work with local REI communities and Small Businesses so be sure to ask when you are there.

Otherwise I use farrow and ball (colormatched by SW) Ammonite (very pale greige)and Purbeck Stone (two tones darker in same palette).

Also painting- if it were a lower priced property i'd say the blue was OK but if I were paying $775k for a house I think I'd expect a fresh paint job in a more current color palette.

The reason is that I re-sided and changed the entire color palette, and the light brown shingles that were there looked dated and were the entirely wrong color.I considered both painting them, and replacing with either standing-seam metal or new architectural shingles, but the architect actually suggested that we wanted to minimize the roof, visually.I've been very happy with the results.

We fell for the "free" a couple of times, but have always returned to Beautitone (Canadian brand through Home Hardware) as the best quality for the dollar.Regardless of the brand on which you settle, if you are a landlord then you get the most benefit on standardizing your palette across your portfolio  (the exception if you are doing high-end, executive-style rentals).
