I also have never used bath fitters but I have seen a few places recently that have deglazed the tubs and deglazed the tiles as well.

Compare the options and alternatives, including determining, if a system, such as Bath Fitters, makes sense, as opposed to a complete demolition and rebuilding!

If n my opinion you should continue working as a pipe fitter for a while until you get several deals under your belt.

There are companies like Bath Fitters that will come in and spray the whole thing, so yes it can be done.

I rent my STRs to welders, pipe fitters, electricians, inspectors etc year round. 

I cant comment on any of those "fitter" type places or retrofits but personally would yank it out and seeing as though its a rental, replace it with a steel tub, tub price is a couple hundred dollars but the labor in getting the old one out and new one in place is what usually costs the most.
