I would guess many government workers are renters like law enforcement and state department as they rotate in and out of the field offices to DC.

Both cities are awesome for investing.  

Try to see the property yourself if you can (was out of state initially).

I know many investors go out of state for buy and hold properties to generate passive income, but is Blythe a lucrative market?

@Jay Hinrichs I handled an auction sale years ago where the city/state had assessed a riverside parcel at 60+ acres for decades when it was actually less than 20.

Let's of NYC investors look at other cities in NY, Rochester, Buffalo, etc... they can drive to them to see them, and they know the state well enough to feel comfortable.Most of the rust belt cities in NY offer cash flow as well. 

Everyone focuses on the big cities, but I'm not a fan of that strategy.
