Asbestos was used in many materials throughout buildings - stucco; window putty; asbestos-cement shingles, pipes, and flues; pipe, duct, and vessel insulation; sheet vinyl flooring; drywall joint compound (so over much of the drywall surface); plaster; floor tile (all sizes); flooring, mirror, ceiling tile, and other mastics; roofing; plastic roof cement; roof coatings; acoustic ceiling texture; ceiling tile; and more.Lead-based paint coated with non-lead-based paint in good condition is less of an issue, as long as it is maintained, and is not damaged or disturbed, as by repair and renovation work, or deterioration.

rich23s, Home Depot sells a product, it comes in a roll, its orange in color, its flexable plastic, it has little squares imbossed in it.....Sorry I cant rmember the name, but its in the tile and flooring area, ITS slick, put your floor prep down, lay the orange membrane over that, let it cure, come back tomorrow, lay mastic and lay tile.

Did it ourselves took about 2 weeks just for the bathroom.All wood framing & window trim $70 (70% culled lumber HD)OSB walls & flooring $100, Wall insulation $45In wall electric blower fan heat $87 240VoltLed lighting $6 above $19 mirror, All ancillary Electrical $70Exhaust fan $30 another Lowes return toilet $25 lowes returnvanity $35 with top slight chip doesn't show faucets $79floor tile 79cents/sq ft. 35 sq ft tile backer-board floor & shower stall $75Shower stall tile 80 pieces @ 49cents each 12x12.48x36inch shower base $48 Lowes (small chip now covered by tile) shower base drain fitting $20.shower diverter (left over from another job) probably $80tile mastic $38, grout & caulking $45 PVC/Pex plumbing minimal as waste pipe etc underneath floor $100Cheap Cedar fencing wood ceiling,  baseboards, trim $25.60 stained with old deck stain we had.Drywall $10 (got 54 sheets from Lowes with damaged edges for $50) We drywalled the entire unit & had 12 sheets left.Pella Window $30 lowesSolid Pine Barn door $10, barn door hanger $80 (amazon)Where it went ...Somewhat finished ...
