I would defiantly keep MLS in your cross check for properties in addition to many other sources including FSBOs, Wholesalers, Direct Listings on webpages like Zillow, and your own network.

I just pulled eviction notices from the county web page for a month and will start to see if the owners might be interested in selling (since evictions are work!)
