Regarding community colleges being cheap or nearly free, it's actually better than free, many students get paid to go to CC, not just tuition and books, but living expenses as well.

Right now the neighborhood is C/C plus, with the renovations going on in the area and the convenient access to NYC direct train line the location I am speaking of will increase in value over the next decade and transition into a B/B plus neighborhood.

cc interest ranges between 14 and 22%.My salary is just under 100k a year.I want to retire at 66 and 4 months old or soonerI've got another 200k in equity in my home.I already get a pension of $530 a monthMy question is - the payments on my cc debt is over 1000 a month - should I take a 50k disbursement from my 414h account and pay off and wipe out this debt?

A handful of tough years are infinitely better than not being able to get a loan or a CC for 4 years and then spending the next 6 only being able to get crap loans and low balance CCs.

I pay off any CC balances every month except one time; 20 years ago my business partner and I, started what became a successful software business using CC's to fund it till we raised equity investment.
