Maxwell AFB’s presence in Montgomery is definitely an important factor, though keep in mind that just 12,500 people (out of roughly 386,000 people in metro Montgomery) work for the Air Force.As for the difference between the two cities, I’d say that there’s slightly higher appreciation potential in Birmingham.

Cincinatti as a town has plenty of draw to support a successful air bnb.

Would anyone be able to give rough estimates of electric/heat/air bill.

Unfortunately, it seems that I may need to replace all the carpets upstairs since it has black lines on the edges due to soil filtration (previous owners didn't clean their air filters often).I'm feeling very optimistic right now, but have spent a whole week just trying to decide on a good value LVP so I can replace the 1st floor...

I consider buying houses with bad roofs, no HVAC or heating only, no central air, old or no appliances, poor paint. 

The house should only be a tear down (termites which have destroyed the garage and interior of the home, no central air/heat throughout although it's listed as such, broken showers and dish washer, swimming pool with cracks in it, a leaky roof, etc..). 

The house is a 2 bed 1 bath in town, close to schools, stores and Kingsley Air Force base.
