Helena, American Canyon, etc.??

My wife and I just got our offer accepted on a turn key vacation rental in the Ventana Canyon area of Tucson. 1286 sq ft, 3 bedroom, 2 bath condo.

Do I want to invest here local where I can drive by my property whenever I want, or do I buy out of state in a cheaper location (KC, Atlanta, Provo, etc) through a turn key operation? 

I certainly am not in favor of zero oversight, but there is a grand canyon between an inspector who is friendly, helpful, will let me drive a missed nail into a hanger while he waits and generally takes a parental attitude and those who view the position as an opportunity to express authority and control and beat folks up for all fees possible.

Look at Canyon title, unified title, first integrity title, first alliance title, etc to handle the closing.

Fire is a risk in the mountains absolutely, but a lot of the risk can be mitigated by what they call “defensible space,” the specific location of the house in relation to canyons and drainages and open space, and of course building construction.
