Learning all I can, from Portland, Oregon

Hello all.  I'm new to the Real Estate world, but looking to learn all I can.  I plan on investing in a buy and hold property in the next couple years, and want to feel comfortable heading into that investment.  Before any investing is done, my wife and I have a simple plan to end up debt free (except mortgage) in the next 9-12 months.  We beginners-lucked our way in to our current primary residence, our first home, in 2013.  Somehow timing the market perfectly, we bought a just worn-down enough for us to afford it foreclosure 3 bed 2 bath in Portland and have cleaned and improved it enough that I'm proud to call it home.  And, with the blazing market here in Portland, we've seen crazy appreciation.  That will be another possible method to aid in our investment future.

Anyway, hello, nice to meet you.  Thank you for this great website, I haven't read anything that didn't originate from BP in the last 3 weeks.
