South Lake Tahoe Recommendations
I'm heading out to South Lake Tahoe in a couple of weeks for vacation and I'm hoping for some suggestions.
I'll be there from Sunday the 21st through Sunday the 28th so I'll have a full week to explore.
I'm planning on skiing at Heavenly a few of those days but I'm looking for things to do on the non-ski days.
I'm staying up in the mountain closer to the ski area (Kingsbury) but will have a rental car to get around.
Any recommendations on things to do, places to see or great restaurants to eat at?
Thanks in advance and I've got my fingers crossed for some more snow in these next 2 weeks!

Hi Brian! We are hoping for some more snow these days too, we just need the temperature to drop a bit. Near you on the Kingsbury side, I recommend checking out the new addition to the Edgewood golf course-it is a public( golfing closed of course) but this summer they've just finished a brand new addition including upscale lodging, day spa and a great new lodge, bar and restaurant The Bistro. Great for lunch, dinner or just drinks. The other two restaurants onsite are great as well. If you'd like a step back in time, head over the hill on Kingsbury to Genoa, Nevada,-this is Nevada's oldest town and less then 15 miles from where you'll be staying. The Genoa Bar, is also the oldest bar in Nevada as well, and definitely worth a visit! There are hot springs in this are too. Samurai Sushi is the best in the town of south lake, having fish flown in from Hawaii. On a clear day, or for sunset, you could bundle up and head to Nevada Beach, also not far from where you'll be staying. It has the best views of Mount Tallac and is easily accesible. Let me know if you need any other ideas, happy to help!
