When you are looking at buying a rental property, really investigate the tourism trends.

The military realignment to the Pacific, higher defense spending, Qualcomm going after Intel, tourism is hot, retirement community growth, etc.

Wondering ho long this will effect tourism in the area.

As for my travelling I did 1 month in Thailand, 1 week in Cambodia and currently just over halfway through a month in Vietnam.

The same happened to Dubai a few years ago and it was not pretty, but Calgary will be worse as there is no other attraction there than high paid oil jobs (Dubai has tourism and a bit of financial industry as well).
