@Austin Mudd   started in 1975... in Northern CA.So it was rough then end of Viet nam war we were in a recession.. but I sold land and it was somewhat insulated.Carter years and massive run up in interest rates crippled the RE markets.then a regional even Earth quake and War in 1989 put N.

The same happened to Dubai a few years ago and it was not pretty, but Calgary will be worse as there is no other attraction there than high paid oil jobs (Dubai has tourism and a bit of financial industry as well).

I know that they are building a ton out there and they are trying to stimulate economy there and capitalize on tourism based on the below article.
