Originally I was looking at Tampa disneyworld area or Destin because I grew up going to Destin every year as a kid.

And so my parents were the not-so-proud owners of two plots of land fifty miles away from their homes that couldn't be used for anything other than grazing livestock.In the house that I grew up in, the name "Loutraki" was never mentioned.

I’m a real estate agent and grew up in the ohare area.

My partner and I grew our portfolio to 5 properties within a few short years, but he never felt that the benefits of real estate investing outweighed the risks... despite the profits we made while downsizing. 

This could work if you A) grew up in that area and understood the culture B) Had multiple and again able to spread the costs/problems...
