Mike Hanneman I can't speak from personal experience on that yet but my Airbnb property manager showed me booking rates on his other units in the area and it didn't seem to slow down at all.Dallas isn't really a seasonal tourism destination, and if it was I don't know why anyone would go there in the summer when the heat will melt your face off!

So anyway, my initial thought was that Vegas is a global tourism spot and so would be good to have some short-term rentals there.  

The short term rental business where we are is booming and our neighborhood is at the top of desirability for this type of tourism business, so we want to capitalize on this.

The tourism market stays pretty busy year round.

Plus its a beautiful town, prices seem entirely reasonable, plenty of tourism in summer for hiking, nature, events, etc and the same in winter for skiing, snowmobiling, and the likes.  

Homeowners pay based on property values, while hotel/motels pay based on net income, which is much lower.This tax could ultimately harm the tourism market, which in turn could bring down overall real estate values.A lodging tax on top of vacationers’ rental payment could easily lead some to go elsewhere for their vacation.

I can do a deeper research for you if you want, however, to be able to answer you now, I can tell you that the vacancy rate can be found by calling the Puerto Rico Tourism Company.

Ideally, I'd like to see rentals from the annual music festivals as well as general tourism in the So-Cal area (goal: 10% or greater ROI). 

Vietnam is high on the list tho, and that might be our first 3 month hiatus country since it is so cheap.
