The other half of the accounting records is coming from online purchases, utility payments, etc etc where they are sending you an email. 

As someone who has only done out of state investing because the Seattle market didn't work with my goals I would say it is totally achievable and likely in less time than you are imagining.

I would imagine the divorce decree does or will read that one of you must try and sell or refinance the home in your good faith best efforts.
