It really just depends on the owners financial position and whether he will use any of his money to create/upgrade/restore his rental property.But as far as sea views and beautiful coastlines are concerned, you have gone to the better parts of Europe.

Aberdeen is the gateway to the beach and the Olympic peninsula and the amazing coastline, mountains, and forests there.

Plus, Joshua Tree National Park is just over the hill and it's spectacular.  

For me the numbers are adequate if not spectacular but I am learning as I go.

And we fly a bunch up in the sound for 100.00 hamburger runs.. great part of the world I have driven to the tip of Vancouver Island and over mtn range from Campbell to the pacific its simply spectacular there.. no other way to describe it.

Yes prices can get crazy along the coastline but there are huge markets further inland that you can get houses that suit your investment style.

Shouldn't REIT's have performed spectacularly for the past 5 years or so?

Another thought is the coastline of Texas since that state is so investor friendly.
