I saw them, but was hoping there was a cheaper - VoIP set up I could use to have a voice mail and a professional appearance w/o the cost.  

The angry message is much easier to face  if you use a voice-to-text transcription service so they come as readable e-mails rather than irate voices.  

Ignore the voice in your head that says, "I can't do this because..."

As a college student you have a very unique opportunity to voice that interest to professors, they likely have connections who would be willing to help you learn.  

While Kodak & Xerox have probably lost their glory, it's been replaced in Rochester by the University of Rochester/Strong Memorial Hospital (largest employer I believe) as an academic and research institute (as well as trickle down bio-tech), Paychex, Windstream (which bought Paetec), and Wegmans (still a top company to work for) to name a few.  

So I set up my google voice and after that I went to craigslist and posted an ad saying I have property at deep discounts.

we tell them that we manage the properties, but i think over time they figure it out. anyway, we text them 99% of the time.i think they like that more than we do. we use google voice, so we have additional numbers we can call them from if they dont answer our google voice (if they screen calls).

:) It's just very frustrating when you feel the homeowners voices are not being heard.

The people close to me often give voice to my own fears so the doubt is usually mine and we try to run through it together to find where the downside is.

In addition to what I posted, I just wanted to let you know that the "quuuuiiiicccck tips" for Postlets advertised it (and got my tenant), my Google voice number fielded the calls annnnd now that I just finished The 4 Hour Work Week, I have a whole new thought process on moving forward.
