Overcoming Yourself and love ones

How do you overcome the doubt that those close to you instill in you?? I am very nervous about asking this question because I have had a few people tell me if your wife/spouse/Girlfriend/ or fiance can make you doubt yourself, then you have no place in investing. Personally its not more so doubt in myself, but the fear of failing in a loved ones eyes.

@Chanté Owens This is the truth!

@George Pemberton You're not alone. What you were honest enough to express is the fear so many people have that they dont do anything. Fear of failing in someone else's eyes. But, that just keeps people working jobs they dont want to work, and miserable. Do you want to stay miserable? Keep following everyone's path and don't take one step off of it.

I'll share this with you: I usually follow the beat of my own drum, and hardly ever listen to what people say or think. I thought it was a drawback, but when I started putting myself out there with courage, against the naysayers, I started achieving success. I didn't realize my inclination to do things my way, which doesn't really work in corporate America, is EXCELLENT if you want to charge ahead of the pack. Let it be your guide.

You're fears, are my fears, are the fears of everyone on this board. however, the difference is we faced that possibility of failure and went for it. You can too! :-)
