It would require that water or at least moisture was coming inside, and until you determined (and repaired) the source of the moisture, you'd likely have additional ongoing damage.If you can give me information about where the rot is occurring, perhaps someone here can give some more detailed advice...

Hi, I just got a house that has vinyl double pane windows in it and there are several windows that have moisture trapped between the panes.

There is also evidence of moisture along the soffit line here which is likely coming from the near by chimney.The house - interiorStructurally the place was amazingly as straight and true as when it was built.

They are so porous they soak any moisture up and retaine the odor. 

I don't have the humidity here in central WA but would love to know how it holds up to moisture.  

Try to find the moisture source.

Moisture had gotten under my hardwood floors and behind my kitchen cabinets.
