Call local real estate offices, insurance offices and other places like the Chamber Of Commerce.

I'll echo what others have said by attending REIAs, lunch & learns, FB groups, here on BP, meetup.com, business after-hours, chamber events, BNI, off-brand business networking, etc. 

Chamber of commerce, Kiwians, sports teams, car clubs, stamp clubs, avoid strip clubs… err we’ll I guess they need homes too.

If you jack the house, you may have a weird looking outside (re curb appeal), and you may crack the lath and plaster/gypsum board inside as well as window glass.Also, what about the chimney is it free floating inside a chamber or attached to the structure.

I'm thinking of joining the local chamber, do driving for dollar campaigns, and our local real estate investors group, meet-up for training commercial property owners, and asking all friends/family if they know of anyone who owns property that needs help managing it.

I am a member of the Affordable Housing and Safer neighborhood committee, with the Independence Chamber of Commerce. 

Get on a plane, go to the local meetup groups, meet some folks from BP who live in the area, develop relationships w/realtors, property managers, log in to chamber of commerce sites, etc..I'm sure you'd do this whether home or away.
