New Investor in New Haven CT

I'm just getting started on my real estate investing journey.  In my 9-5 (more like 8-6) job, I am a software developer for a large bank, so I have some knowledge of the mortgage industry (mostly 1-4 family residential but I've also worked on projects related to commercial loans).

I did own a condo at one point that I rented out for a few years, so I have a little bit of experience as a landlord.

I'm looking to start investing in small multi-family properties in New Haven, Connecticut.  My goal for this year is to buy one duplex to get started.

@Geoff Chambers - find a good real estate agent that understands helping investors.  I recommend @Brandon Rush or @Joseph Salzillo.

Both are good at helping investors do just this!
