Congratulations on starting the process of becoming an investor!

The process has been difficult and stressful and we almost gave up a few times. 

Getting an LLC in place from the start can provide peace of mind and give you a chance to familiarize yourself with the process before expanding your portfolio.

I am currently in the process of identifying land for a purpose-built residential assisted living and memory care facility in Houston, TX.

Most (not all) HELOCs require that the property is titled to an individual (not LLC) and are full doc, meaning your employment history, income, DTI etc will be factors.

Key points include:Security Deposits: In Indiana, there’s no legal cap on security deposits, but you must return the deposit (minus any valid deductions) within 45 days of the tenant vacating the property.Evictions: Follow the formal process carefully.

@Aaron Bard- plenty of  lenders  offer  DCSR loans ...contact a  few  for  quotes ...also - dont  pay  any  lenders  at the beginning of the process 

Additionally, we have paused the approval process for the 72-unit rental building due to the current uncertainties and complexities involved.Our original plan has been disrupted, but we believe in the potential of Corktown—a rapidly developing area with immense promise.

It is just a reality how many PMs have no idea how to process claims and have close to 0 systems to protect assets for business owners. 

I have actually done this and can say that it is a pretty complex process with many rules.
