Your investment is still secured to the underlying real estate (actually your more secured lending than you are borrowing) as well you get to shift the risks and liability to someone else (ie the borrower) while still collecting passive income.

The downside to rentals in KCMO is that you have to deal with Jackson County property taxes, Happy Homes Inspections, registering your property with the city and that it is slowly shifting to be less investor-friendly.
