Any tenant in NYC should be willing to roll with a few punches for a good place in a good location with a good, proactive landlord.

I would recommend joining a landlord association in your area, but before you do, ask about the lease they have on hand. 

In the future, I would recommend having your partner fund his portion into your bank account at least 2 months out so it won’t show up when you submit your past 2 months bank statements to the lender.

One of the tenants has not paid April rent, and the landlord has given proper notices and just filed paperwork at the courthouse.
