Definitely fishy considering this from the CFPB website "The Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection (Bureau) is amending Regulation B, which implements the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), and the Bureau's official interpretations of the regulation, which interpret and clarify the requirements of Regulation B.

I'd pay off the debt.I paid off $87k in consumer debt and the payments I no longer have to make help propel me to complete freedom.When I was getting out of debt, my plow-back (re-savings rate) was huge and I saved my money back much faster than anticipated.My guess is you will buckle down and re-save the $37k more quickly than you think.

Also to protect the consumer there are normally procedures to process the application after conditions are met (eg receipt of holding fee) so if the file was processed then they should have information on file.

That said, filling empty mobile home park pads is not for the faint of heart...it can be very time consuming and slow, dealing with multiple vendors and government permitting offices.

These malls have anchors such as Macy's but the anchors do not pay much money per sq ft at all.More sophisticated mall owners that are more experienced are converting the spaces to restaurants and more entertainment concepts that draw consumers into the center.

Management fees are high, though to be fair they are very time-consuming to manage, HOAs are high to maintain all the beachfront insurance and amenities, and you have to compete with a lot of investor money coming from up north.
