Im wondering what to expect a lender to discount an existing first position mortgage on a property that is starting a foreclosure process. 

Some say they don't prefer Decatur while others think assets in Decatur are currently on discount due to negative talk.

I have been working hard to find discounted properties on the MLS that are in need of rehabbing.

Not knowing those areas well is a problem, asking around or checking individual county's website is often slow too.I found that out by checking local county's tax calculator + found properties in the same area that's sold for similar pricing back in 2019 and how much they are taxed in 2020.I had the opposite for Las Vegas, where the numbers were higher than the truth.When you google, "property taxes in xyz" they only mention what an average property tax is in a given area, often that percentage has nothing to do with booming markets and does not indicate anything near what you'd be paying.Anyway, just curious if there's any service where I can just put the zip code and get the real property tax amount/percentage that I would be paying if I purchase a house in that area?

I would also negotiate a discount on the sales price because of it. 

I was doing some research into the DC Housing Authority requirements and I came across an article in their code that stated the minimum occupancy for a 5-bedroom home is 10 people.

I'd be willing to bet they coded in an override or factory reset into the control panel anticipating codes would be forgotten or it becomes locked.

Stacking current building code on outdated building code (or something before eng codes existed!)
